quick summary
Downe Township Committee
Two seats are open in the 2025 Downe Township Committee race. Incumbent Mayor Michael Rothman and Larry Jordan are running as a ticket with the endorsement of the Cumberland County
Regular Republican Organization. The remaining two candidates, Sean Pignatelli and Trevor Spiotto, are running without party backing.
Despite efforts to contact all four candidates using the information they submitted to the County Clerk, only Pignatelli has responded directly. A phone call was made with Larry Jordan,
during which he stated he would follow up with Rothman about providing campaign information, but no response has been received since. This lack of follow-through may suggest an
intentional decision not to engage with the public information process.
New scrutiny has also emerged around Rothman due to a taxpayer-funded settlement paid to his stepson after a 2024 vehicle accident. The absence of clear answers from township
officials — coupled with questions of potential conflict of interest — has intensified calls for transparency and could impact voter perception heading into the primary.

At this point in the race, Sean Pignatelli remains the only candidate to present a clear, accessible agenda and maintain two-way communication with the public. His consistent
community involvement and advocacy for open governance stand in contrast to the silence from the other candidates, who, despite known records of local involvement, have yet to outline
their goals or intentions for a new term.
Unless additional information is provided by the Rothman-Jordan ticket or Spiotto, voters are left to make decisions based on limited input. As it stands, Pignatelli remains the only
candidate offering a full picture of how he intends to serve.
